frank gehry: beekman tower nearing completion

construction is almost complete for frank gehry‘s beekman tower in new york.
the 76 storey residential tower located just south of city hall plaza and the brooklyn bridge,
consists of a public elementary school, luxury apartments, a space for new york downtown hospital and an underground public carpark.the building’s structural frame is that of reinforced concrete and is draped with a wrinkled stainless steel facade. the 1.1 million square foot tower, will become one of the city’s tallest buildings and is due to open later this year.
